Merthyr Community Fund reopens for nominations

St Tydfil Shopping Centre is once again inviting schools, charities and local groups to apply for £500 worth of store vouchers as part of its Community Fund.

Julie Calderbank, Operations Manager at St Tydfil Shopping Centre, commented:

"Our St Tydfil Cares Community Fund has so far proven extremely popular. It’s highlighted the fantastic groups and charities there are in the area that do so much to support local people. Maybe a school or nursery would like to add new books to its library, or perhaps a group that provides craft activities for those with additional needs would like to update their supplies, whatever the reason, we would like to hear about it".

Nominations can be made by emailing StTydfil@pmwcom.co.uk or by sending a letter to St Tydfil Community Fund, c/o PMW Communications, PO Box 167, Bideford, Devon, EX39 9DU. Could your mum be crowned Merthyr Tydfil's Star Mum?

In celebration of Mother’s Day on Sunday 6th March, St Tydfil Shopping Centre is inviting the local community to nominate their mum to be named Merthyr Tydfil’s Star Mum.

Perhaps a mum has helped someone through a difficult time, has overcome adversity or is always putting others first, whatever the reason, St Tydfil Shopping Centre would like to hear about it.  The winning mum will receive a range of prizes including the beautiful Lepos de Princess pendant and chain courtesy of F.Hinds, chocolates, a clothing voucher and pampering products.

Nick Magor, Centre Manager of St Tydfil Shopping Centre, commented:

Mums do so much for their families but can often feel overlooked and forgotten about, especially in the midst of school runs and busy schedules. We’d like to recognise a deserving Merthyr mum and help someone say ‘thank you’ for all of their hard work.

“If you know someone that would be a deserving winner, whether it’s your own mum or simply a mother figure in need of recognition, please get in touch and submit your nominations before entries close!

To nominate a mum, simply email sttydfil@pmwcom.co.uk or post your nomination (explaining why they deserve to win) to:

St Tydfil’s Star Mum
C/o PMW Communications

The deadline for nominations is midnight on Sunday 21st February. All entries should include both the nominator and nominee’s names and contact telephone numbers, along with the age of the nominee. The winner will be required to attend a presentation at St Tydfil Shopping Centre and have their photo taken.
