Merthyr Tydfil is the commercial, social and retail epicentre of the County Borough and is emerging as the regional centre of the Heads of the Valley region.

The Town is located on the southern boundary of Brecon Beacons National Park, approximately 25 miles north of Cardiff. The Town benefits from excellent road links, sitting inside the triangle created by the A465 (Heads of the Valley Road), A4060 and A470 roads. Originally constructed in 1970, the Centre was extensively refurbished during 1993 to provide a modern semi-covered pedestrian environment which now dominates the Town’s retail provision, and includes the Town’s prime retail pitches of Graham Way and Newmarket Walk.

A visit to St Tydfil Shopping Centre simply wouldn’t be complete without a short stroll through our very special indoor Centre marketplace, where you’ll get to meet our amazing local community and get your hands on a fantastic range of produce and gifts. Running Monday through to Saturday, our market traders have been selling for as long as we know – in fact, some traders have even been with us for over 40 years! When it comes to history, we’ve got plenty to spare.
